Where it all began
"Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life" - Confucius
After graduating High School, I pursued a career as a Dental Care Professional. I obtained a Qual - National Certificate NEBDN in 2010 and thereafter became a Registered Dental Nurse. I predominately worked within private practice, and my role in the surgery ranged from assisting the Dentist in carrying out surgical procedures to administrative tasks. I recently read an article that stated, "The perfect dental nurse is a graceful swan, gliding gracefully on the surface to support the patients and dentists, whilst padding furiously under water to ensure everything is running as smoothly as possible" and I couldn't have given a better description myself. There are similarities between Dentistry and Law such as you require to have a duty of care to your patients, just like you do to your clients, legislation and ethical standards must always adhere to. Therefore, the skills and life experience gained throughout my past career has only assisted to get me to where I am today.
No Wrong Path
"If you can DREAM it, you can DO it" - Walt Disney
The decision to change career transpired when my interests became focused on the business aspect. Therefore, after just over 5 years within the Dental industry and with no second thought I made the decision to go back to being a full-time student. I enrolled at Stirling University to study the LLB Degree and thereafter I achieved the Diploma in Professional Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh. Throughout my time at University, I worked a flexible part-time job at the retail store 'Next Home' and I suppose you could say this is where my love for home interior evolved. I was absolutely delighted when I was given the opportunity of a traineeship with Morton Fraser. My traineeship has primarily focused on Commercial Real Estate and Infrastructure and although it has been challenging, the knowledge gained, and team support has been invaluable.
It's never too late

What would I say to someone who is considering changing career or unsure of the career path they would like to pursue or simply looking for a new challenge …. the world's your oyster. Jeff Bezos had a lucrative career in computer science before launching Amazon at 31. Vera Wang was figure skater before entering the fashion industry at age 40. Have a clear objective and keep moving forward. There is no wrong path.
