Billy Kay

Billy acts for borrowers, banks and public sector clients in relation to general corporate, energy finance and real estate finance lending. He advises clients on a wide range of domestic and international finance transactions, with significant experience in providing support to London-based firms in relation to Scots law financing, security and structuring matters.

Billy has a particular focus in advising sponsors, funds, financial institutions and local authorities on project finance (including major infrastructure and PFI/PPP/NPD projects) and renewable energy financing. 

He has experience in-house with Dexia Public Finance Bank where he successfully closed a range of major infrastructure transactions in transport, health and education. He is experienced in negotiating finance, security and guarantee packages for both the private and public sectors for green-field and brown-field energy projects. 

He has also advised a range of clients (on both buy-side and sell-side) in the secondary market for project financed backed structures with extensive experience on the sale and purchase of renewable and infrastructure asset equity investments, both as part of a major leading City of London law firm - where he spent several years, including a secondment to the deal origination team of an international lending institution - and in providing bespoke Scots law financing advice alongside other City firms.
