Partner

Ross Caldwell is a partner in our Banking & Financial Services team with over 20 years of post-qualified experience in this area of practice.

His particular specialisms include real estate finance, acquisition finance, leveraged finance and general corporate lending.

Prior to joining the firm in May 2017, Ross practised as a partner in the City of London for ten years, latterly as a partner with international law firm Taylor Wessing LLP.

Ross is qualified to practice under both English law and Scots law and frequently acts on UK cross-border and international debt finance transactions. He is also published in various journals including the Journal of International Banking & Financial Law, the Juridical Review, the Solicitor's Journal, the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland and the Journal of Finance & Credit Law.

Ross heads-up our Your Scots Counsel firm-wide initiative, which seeks to deepen and strengthen our relationships with law firms across the world which may need Scots law advice and assistance on their cross-border transaction and litigation matters.

With Morton Fraser MacRoberts, such law firms can engage with a legal practice in Scotland which understands the challenges they face, the pressures they're under and the commercial factors which need to be considered in terms of their own business interests.

Ross combines an acute legal mind with a commercial savviness which ensures we are able to navigate key issues with far more ease than expected.
